Paywalled or Unavailable Articles

If you see an article's abstract but cannot access the full article, check Google Scholar to see if there is a copy available.  Often, authors will make pre-publication versions available in open access repositories and archives.  Google Scholar indexes the contents of these repositories and archives and can tell you if there is an available version of the article.

If you do not find a freely-available copy, check with your local public library.  Public libraries can often interlibrary-loan articles as well as books.

Books

Any Vermont resident can sign up for a guest borrower card at the Howe Library Circulation Desk.

Once you have a guest borrower card, you can check CatQuest to see which titles we own or browse for books on a topic.  After searching, pay attention to the limits to the left if you want to quickly limit your search by material type, date of publication, or another option.

To broaden your search beyond UVM, you might try looking at nearby academic libraries at St. Michael's College or Champlain College, or extend your search even further by using Worldcat to search in libraries around the world.  Use your local public library's interlibrary loan service to get what you need.
