Entries cover terms defining types of manuscript, their physical features and materials, writing implements, writing surfaces, scribes and other writing agents, scripts, postal markings, and seals, as well as subjects relating to literature, bibliography, archives, palaeography, the editing and printing of manuscripts, dating, conservation, and fields as cartography, commerce, heraldry, law, and military and naval matters.

Medieval and Early Modern Manuscripts Collection: Database and Digital Images
This collection from The Harry Ransom Center at UT-Austin contains 215 medieval or Renaissance manuscripts that date between the 11th and 17th centuries. Complete digital images are provided for some manuscripts. The Ransom Center is in the process of digitizing all of the items in this collection and more images will be gradually added here as they are completed.
