These resources aren't "peer reviewed" scholarly sources, but they can be great starting points for exploring a topic and finding other sources.

Space Daily
Weekly updates on the latest news in space exploration for the last twenty years. Includes regular updates from the International Space Station.

International Journal of Astrobiology
Coverage includes cosmic chemistry, extremophile biology and experimental simulation of extraterrestrial environments, the future of life on Earth and beyond, climate modeling and the evolution of life, the search for extraterrestrial intelligence, the history of the science of astrobiology, as well as societal and educational aspects of astrobiology.

Dedicated to interdisciplinary analysis of civil, commercial, military, and intelligence space activities worldwide. Includes Open Access content.

Guide to research that has been conducted aboard the International Space Station.

Academic Search Premier
This resource is a multidisciplinary database that provides access to scholarly journal literature across all disciplines, as well as magazine articles and some newspaper articles. It is a recommended starting point for research on any subject, and very useful for topics that span disciplines. It includes some full text as well as links to full text.
Google Scholar
This resource provides access to scholarly literature including articles, theses, books, abstracts, court opinions, technical reports, patents and many other document types. Google Scholar's coverage is extremely broad and sometimes more up-to-date than other databases - but its non-selective coverage may include lower-quality publications.

This link to Google Scholar will enable UVM affiliates to easily link through to materials to which we have access.
PubMed
This free resource comprises citations for biomedical literature from MEDLINE, life science journals, and online books. PubMed citations and abstracts include the fields of biomedicine and health, covering portions of the life sciences, behavioral sciences, chemical sciences, and bioengineering. This resource is developed and maintained by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) at the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM).

Science Direct
Use for finding articles in the sciences. UVM no longer has a current subscription to this resource. However, you can use this tool to identify articles we purchased previously, articles that are Opan Access, and articles that you can order via Interlibrary loan.

Scopus
Scopus is an indexing and abstracting database of peer-reviewed scholarly content covering the sciences, social sciences, and arts & humanities similar to Web of Science. UVM has trial access to this database through December of 2025.

This resource provides access to a wide variety of research materials from the UVM Libraries. Use it to locate books, articles, government publications, films, music, images, archival materials, and more.
