Before You Search

Can't find the full article? Use this button to see if we own it.

If we do not own an article, you can always request the article from another library via Interlibrary Loan. If you are making a request for the first time, you will need to create a registration before making your request. Interlibrary loaning an article is always free for students, staff, and faculty and requests are usually filled very quickly. More information and details are available.

You can use our Document Delivery service to request scanned versions of items we own in print. Due to copyright, we cannot scan whole books, but book chapters and older articles in print can be scanned and sent to you. Use the Interlibrary Loan sign-in and, under "New Request" select "Document Delivery" as the type of request. This might just save you a trip to the stacks!

ERIC
This resource is the preferred search tool in the field of education. It contains scholarly and practitioner-oriented articles in peer-reviewed and other journals, papers given at conferences, and scholarly reports in education and the behavioral sciences. It provides citation records, as well as a large amount of full-text content. Access for non-UVM affiliates @ eric.ed.gov.
Web of Science
Web of Science is a multidisciplinary search tool for the sciences, social sciences, and education. It not only finds articles, it allows you to see what other articles have cited the article in-hand, allowing you to go forward and back through the scholarly literature.
Google Scholar
Google scholar searches across both resources licensed by the UVM Libraries and resources freely available on the web. It's indexing of colleges' institutional repositories is especially helpful to work in HESA. Like Web of Science, you can also trace an article's citations forward and backward in time through the scholarly literature.
