The David W. Howe Memorial Library has a large collection of materials published by the U.S. government.
Howe Library is one of more than 1,000 federal depository libraries. Congress designated these libraries to provide public access to information published by the U.S. government. In addition to welcoming UVM community members, we welcome all Vermont community members to explore this collection. Learn about the collection and how you can use these materials.
Congress established the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) in 1813 and it continues to preserve the historical legacy of our government documentation for all.
Photographed: A small pamphlet from the Department of Agriculture titled "Making cottage cheese at home" and a thick volume from Congress titled "Final Report, Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol" illustrate the diversity of the U.S. government documents collection.
The U.S. Government Documents collection contains some information about Vermont, but it does not contain information published by the state of Vermont. To find information published by the state, please contact our Silver Special Collections Library at Jack and Shirley Silver Special Collections Library.
