Browse a database for streaming video

If you'd rather browse than search, you may want to look within one of these popular databases.

  • Kanopy: Feature films and documentaries from around the world. Highlights include titles from the Criterion Collection, the BBC and non-English language films. Create an account to access advanced options like creating clips. Download the app to use Kanopy on your phone or tablet.
  • Swank: This collection includes popular titles and classic movies.

What else should you know?

Streaming license agreements are purchased as needed throughout the year, so films may expire mid-semester.

Learn more about accessing UVM Libraries resources when off-campus.

Search CATQuest, our library catalog to discover thousands of DVDs in our collection.

The Media Services Desk at Howe Library lends external hard drives to allow you to play the film on your computer.

You will also find DVDs and VHS at the Silver Special Collections Library. Visit their reference desk to use these materials.

CATQuest tips

  • CATQuest will show you the location of the item, so you'll know whether to find it at the Howe Media Services desk or at Silver Special Collections Library.
