Intro Text Box

Of course all library collections are special, but a "special collections library" collects certain historical, rare or unique groupings of items -- often in interesting formats like letters, digital materials, objects, photographs and more.

At UVM's Jack and Shirley Silver Special Collections Library, we collect information about Vermont, the history of our university and rare books. We love working with students, faculty, scholars, local historians, consultants, and journalists. Explore our collection:

The image at the top of this page comes our UVM Libraries Digital Collections. It's an excerpt from a 1954 photo from our Maple Research Collection, titled "Collection buckets in the sugar bush".
